Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Election Results 2019 Live Updates: The block development council (BDC) election is over after the withdrawal of special state status from Jammu Kashmir. This was the first election in the valley after Article 370 was removed. Officials said that there are 26,629 voters out of which 8,313 are women and 18,316 are male in the election for the election of BDC presidents. Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) are BDC second tier organizations. PRI consists of three levels village, block and district.

Kumar said that the voting percentage was 93.65 per cent in 10 districts of Kashmir region and 99.4 per cent turnout was recorded in ten districts of Jammu region. He said that 100 per cent polling was recorded in Srinagar which is the highest in the Valley while Shopian and Pulwama districts The turnout was 85.3 and 86.2 percent respectively. Kumar said that Reasi in Jammu region recorded 99.7 percent and Jammu 99.5 percent. Ladakh recorded 97.8 percent polling. The maximum candidates were in Kupwara district (101) of North Kashmir and the lowest four were in Shopian in South Kashmir.
Officials said there are 316 blocks in the state but the election was held in 310.
