The Hoshangabad District Goraksha chief of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) was shot dead on Saturday in Madhya Pradesh. The news agency PTI gave this information by quoting the police. The age of the deceased is said to be 35 years. However, the reason behind the murder is not yet clear.
According to the report of the news agency PTI, it is a case of mutual enmity, in which the VHP's Hoshangabad district Gauraksha chief Ravi Vishwakarma was shot and killed after allegedly attacking him with sticks and sharp weapons.
Pipariya police station in-charge Satish Andhawan was quoted as saying on Saturday that the incident took place at around 7pm on Friday night when Vishwakarma was returning to Pipariya from Hoshangabad by car with two of his colleagues.
He said that in the meantime, 10 people who had been ambushed in Pipariya attacked Vishwakarma first with sharp weapons and lathis and later shot and killed him.
Andhawan said that Vishwakarma got two bullets. One was on his arm, while the other got on his chest after he hit his other hand, which led to his death.
He said that two of his teammates who were going in the car along with Vishwakarma were also injured in the incident. After the incident, all the accused fled from the spot. A case has been registered against 10 named people in the case and their search is on. Nobody has been arrested yet. Detailed investigation of the case is going on.
